for Gnome x64 new error message:

journalctl -b |grep polkit-gnome

в гном,кеды,плазму,мате - не нужен,а вот lxqt не знаю....в commonlxqt есть polkit-gnome

Выяснили, что в lxqt работает lxqt-policykit-agent и нормально запрашивает пароль.
